Thank God for two days! The Anglers Club of Chicago joined us for the past couple days on Mo’. Swinging flies for steelhead comes with one guarantee–it’s never going to be easy! Fishing lived up to that Monday with not even a single bump. High-skies and cold water proved predictable. Forecasts of low-skies and “steelhead weather” was T-ed up for today and we were greeted this morning with perfect dreary conditions.
It still amazes me even after 18 years of fishing for a living that the behavior of our beloved steelhead can take such a dramatic shift in as little as a few hours. It certainly pays to fish for more than one day, today was no exception! Pictured are Craig and John with a couple from today.
