9/9/10

Today was the beginning of my busy fall season. I was joined by my friend Jon Donehoo for a little “sticking” on the lower Manistee. Today was all about finding the perfect drag setting. Too little and you were in the lumber. Too much to try and keep them out of the lumber and you were ducking as everything came flying back at you after a good head shake. We did get it right on a number of occasions and brought some nice fish to hand. There are decent numbers of fish in the system, with more moving in as the closer to the lake we got the brighter the fish. I’m looking forward to an awesome fall season, thanks Jon, for starting it off with a bang.

(If you ever happen to run into Jon, make sure you ask him about the fight this fish put up.)
