9/15/12

September?  Must be time to fly fish some Chinook, and so it was on the Manistee today for daughter Julie, son Ryan, and Ryan’s best buddy Ken.  What a great time we had together:  perfect low 70’s early fall day, clear water, fresh run Kings, and hookups throughout the day along with lots of laughs.  Steelhead orange nuclear egg was the pattern that found the lips of most fish, including the skpper  Julie boated.  Saw a couple of mature steelhead along with some Coho and pinks.  No fish on gravel yet with the bulk of the run yet to come.

Today with the “kids” was yet another reminder that we parents get only one time around at making memories like those we created today.  Thanks Julie, Ryan, and Ken for a special day for me. Will remember it a long time, I’m sure.
