-3 degrees, March 26–Really?!?!

I would really love to say a few choice words regarding my feelings towards the 8am temperature of -3 degrees this morning, but at this point we’ve all thought the same thing! Regardless, I think I could get used to these mid-morning starts and extra coffee.

Joining me today we two newcomers to the steelhead chase–Brad and Laura. I must admit, with the temperatures barely above 0 degree at 10 am a lot of hardy steelheaders would have pulled the plug. Not Brad and Laura, life is full of many new adventures and today fly fishing for steelhead was on the list. Good students, well placed casts, and optimism led both Brad and Laura to their first steelhead successes–hopefully it’s the start of a new found fly fishing passion. Pictured are a couple nice steelhead from today.
