The 2009 Michigan Fly Fishing Club’s fly fishing show in Warren, Michigan, is now history, and what a great show it turned out to be! National speakers like Gary Borger, large numbers of manufacturers and retail shops, and, of course, outfitters like RiverQuest Charters were out in force. Most important, though, attendance was excellent—by far the best of any of the shows we’ve done this year—Indianapolis, Cincinnati, and Chicago. Pictured is the RiverQuest crew, and the bagpipers who announced the opening of the show on Saturday morning.

We were delighted to greet current clients and meet large numbers of prospective customers. All the while, we networked with our fly fishing colleagues in the industry and continued to increase our knowledge of fly fishing and fly tying techniques, as well as examine new equipment and clothing designed to increase our clients’ fly fishing pleasure. All in all, the show was a great time with the promise of happy days on the water before us.

Thanks to all of you who stopped by to talk fly fishing with us. For those of you whom we met for the first time, thank you for giving us the opportunity to share the sport we love. Be sure to check out the “2008 Archive” section of the RiverQuest Fishing Report to view our clients’ catches and to learn about fishing conditions and hatches during the months in which you are interested in fishing with us. Our reports are accurate, free of hyperbole, and show and tell how each day went so you can choose the date best for you. We truly look forward to hosting your fly fishing adventure on our waters—the St. Joseph, Muskegon, Manistee, and St. Mary’s Rivers.
