Yeah Baby!

John Smith along with his fishing buddies–Bob, Ramsey, and Lee joined Capt Dave and myself today on the Muskegon River. Fishing of late has been one day to the next, one day a tougher bite–the next easy pickings. Today was one of those slower bites where we needed to fish every cast with precision. Great Lakes nymphing–A.K.A C&D, was in-order for the crew. Clown eggs, pale o’ cheese, STS steelhead buggers, and stone flies rounded out the bulk of interest today. Most of the takes of late have been crushing blows on swung flies or very solid smacks on nymphed flies, however today the bite was extremely subtle. I ‘m really not sure  what had the fish “off”, but they certainly were acting strange. Pictured is John (top) and Ramsey (lower). Both guys worked very hard for their fish. Note worthy–John’s steelhead is his largest ever, congratulations!
