Jay and I had the opportunity today to fish with a couple of our regular clients and friends Logan & Sean-Paul. This time they decided to bring their wives Katy & Megan along to enjoy some quiet time at the Lodge and a day on the water. Not sure exactly how it went for Logan and Katy in Jay’s boat but I will say that Sean-Paul owes Logan $20.00. I do know for sure that once Megan got the hang of casting and line control she was a fishing machine. Pictured above is a nice early steelhead she brought to hand and below, with SP holding the fish because she wouldn’t, is the largest salmon Megan boated today. Sean -Paul did get into the action but being the good husband he let Megan take center stage.

Things are shaping up very nicely for the fall season. While the water is still EXTREMELY low, the fishing continues to improve daily. I have also been very encouraged by the number of steelhead I have seen already. The egg buffet is open for steelhead and trout so pale egg patterns, clown eggs and the occasional STS bugger have been the preferred offerings lately.
