Well after another rewarding early season on the Manistee River for salmon I was very glad to be back on the Muskegon today. Joining me today was Matt Darby and his good friend Nate. Salmon numbers on the Muskegon are thin when compared to the Manistee but numbers of salmon are not bad. Pods of new fish could be seen cruising up-stream today as we worked our way down through the mid-sections of the river.  After chaotic (at times) fishing on the Manistee the solitude of the high wooded banks of the Muskegon were particularly comforting today. Small caddis and pale cream eggs fished beneath indicators provided a rewarding day. Most of the crew will be back with me beginning tomorrow.

Tight lines,
