200% better

The John Sommerdyke crew joined Capt. Don Graham and I on the Manistee today. Seasonable conditions were in store today with starting temps in the mid 30’s and afternoon highs in the upper 60’s. Don and Mike were in my boat and were treated to some very respectable salmon with the largest tipping the boga to a solid 24lbs. This is a great sign of the health of Big Blue; with fewer overall salmon in the lake and the forage base up 200% equates to very well fed salmon. I believe the opportunity of a legitimate 30lb king is well within reason. Picture above is Mike and Don below.

On a side note: a truly nice bwo hatch on the river today; I would have killed for my 6wt as a number of very respectable trout were sipping the little delicacies!
