Tom Haverkamp and his son Jared joined me yesterday for a wonderful afternoon/evening trip on the Muskegon. Thankfully the weather and the trout proved more reliable than ou Detroit Red Wings!

Sulfers, caddis and Iso’s were most prevalent last evening with the drakes being almost absent from our area. The trout started reliably sipping just aster the dinner hour with size 14 emerger pattern taking most of our fish. At dusk we were able to find a very nice brown feeding within range for Jared and several casts later he was rewarded with his best trout on a dry to date- nice job Jared! Pictured lower is a very grainy shot of a Owl that joined us last evening.
