Dan Bowen and crew: State lottery commissioner Scott Bowen (future Attorney General), OD, Mac, and Brendan rounded out the list of guys participating in this perfect early summer day of steelhead fishing. Steelhead ju-ju was in full swing today as the chrome sought to make things difficult; hook ups were plentiful but the deal closing was well…pretty poor 🙁 ! No fault of the guys; it was just one of those days.
Steelhead numbers continue to hold their own; trout fishing is improving day to day. Look for streamer fishing to be much improved over last year as water clarity remains slightly tea colored. Parr patterns will fish better the further downstream you travel due to the higher than normal percentage of salmon spawning that took place in the lower river last fall. Small tan caddis and size 14 blk stones continue to be active during day light hours.
