Capt. Dave Devries and myself hosted Dennis VanDam of Visser Dev. and his co-worker Greg and Doug and Mark of Mercantile Bank today. Fishing was very good shallow today with the extremely light fishing pressure. Doug and Mark both fished the dark water with me in the afternoon and found the bite to be a little soft though Mark was rewarded with an outstanding chrome hen that took a pink nuke egg.

Flows on the MO’ are just about normal though it seems low compared to the big water we have had all spring. Water temperatures are around 41 degrees and spawning is occurring in most sections of river. New fish are staged below gravel in the dark stuff and drop backs are smacking just about any pattern you fish. Fishing should stay this way for the foreseeable future with great fishing holding strong through at least the 15th of next month. Pictured are a couple of Marks fish.
