Dark water dude

Wow, sorry for the delay on posts since Thursday! Our host provider decided they didn’t want to support the version of the blog we have been using, and with the holiday, I was unable to have our Webmaster fix the problem until today. For the reports, or most importantly the pictures, log onto our Facebook Fan page for the photo shoots since Thursday the 1st.

Ken and John joined me today for another unseasonably warm, bright day on the river. Fishing pressure since last Friday has fallen off dramatically. Dark water remains the place to be, except during the low-light periods when the steelhead feel reasonably comfortable hitting the shallows in the very skinny clear water. Stone flies, nuke eggs, and green caddis are top producers of late. Drop-backs on the swing are increasingly available but with a big dump of rain that can change day-to-day. Pictured above is a large buck taken by John out of the safe harbors of the dark water. Below, Ken holds a dime during the high skies of the afternoon.
