Steelhead fishing continues to be a challenge; though many fish are present throughout the entire system they are proving to be very challenging. I truly believe that the constantly changing weather patterns are causing the steelhead to be very temperamental. Bill and fishing partner Charlie joined me today for what would turn out to be a very precise and technical day of fly fishing. Small natural nymphs were the key to success today. Water temperatures are starting to slowly climb and are now running around 37 degrees. A few steelhead are starting to shine the gravel but by no means should you assume that you can go fish gravel! Walleye are providing plenty of bends in your rod. Rain and snow are in the 12hr forecast with the chance for more significant precipitation moving in by Sunday evening. Pictured is Bill with one of his fish from today.

By the way- Bill turns 50 tomorrow! Happy Birthday!

Tight lines,

Steve
