Well, back to the cold weather for a couple of days….Matt Workman and his friend Don joined me today for a very brisk day of steelhead fishing on the Muskegon River. The morning started out beautifully with a great sunrise and calm winds but shortly turned to a cold and windy day. The morning bite was pretty good but once the cold front plowed through it became a game of determination. While Matt was able to capitalize early Don brought a couple close only to have both of them fall short of the net. We were able to find one more player fish in the afternoon to end the day 2/5. Clown eggs brought the fish in the morning and a small sparkle stone produced the afternoon fish. Picture is Matt and Don with a couple of well earned fish.

If you are out on the town this weekend in Grand Rapids be sure to stop down to the Ultimate Sport Show at Devos Place. Captains Don Graham and Tom Kuieck will be working their Alumaweld and Evinrude duties in the Camp n’ Cruise Booth. They both would love to share their knowledge of boats and motors.

Captain Dave Devries and I will be rounding out our company show responsibilities at the Traverse City Hunting and Fishing Expo. If you are heading north for the weekend stop by our booth at the Traverse City Civic Center and we can share some exiting opportunities on Grand Traverse Bay for both carp and smallmouth bass on the fly. Also we will be featuring our trips in the “Soo” for Atlantic salmon.
